Going to be busy around here...

Danny has a lot of paperwork stuff to do in the next week. It's in preparation for (hopefully) getting into school. Classes start the end of August, so he doesn't have much time. No, he wasn't dragging his feet. It turned out that things changed at the last minute.

Xander's new tooth hasn't come through, yet. He was kinda cranky today because of it. He ate really well today, though. A couple of his favorite things to eat are yogurt melts (candy kiss shaped freeze dried yogurt drops) and puff snacks (looks like alpha-bits). I give them to him as "dessert". He loves picking them up with his fingers and trying to shove them in his mouth.

Yes, trying. It's so much fun just to watch Xander feed himself. He'll pick up the the food with either hand (if it's with his left, he'll put it in his right); then, he tries to get it in his mouth by shoving one hand with the other hand into his mouth. =)

As I said, he ate really well today, so I'm hoping he'll sleep well again tonight. He slept about 8 hours last night before waking up around 6:30a. I didn't give him a bath tonight, so we'll see if that makes a difference.

I need to go finish washing dishes. But, before I go, here are some links I wanted to share. I haven't had much time on the computer, so there aren't that many.

This is good. She makes a very good point. I didn't realize that the "quiver" that is being referred to is that of a warrior and could hold 80 arrows! Yikes! ;-)

At the Well...In Pursuit of Titus 2: Staying in the Spirit
For those who have unbelieving family or friends (or who say they're "christian"), this post is for you. How many times do we let others (non-christians) foist their beliefs on us and think we have to keep silent out of "love"? Love doesn't let someone fall down a hill blindly. Love tries to gently show them the right way.

Hilarious! It's an old Bob Hope movie clip; you'll like it. =)

Two scientists, two standards (OneNewsNow.com)
This one is scary. It looks like the devil is running the country. No, I'm not calling anyone "the devil". I'm saying he's behind it all. The Bible does say that when men turn so far from God and the truth, that He will give them over to the devil. Think about it. (If you can find the reference for that, let me know too. Thanks!)

Goodnight and have a great weekend!

Catching Up

At least trying to catch up! =) The weekend was fun, especially since we were there for three days instead of two. But, it's taking me awhile to get back to normal. The dishes still need to be done, so I probably won't write much tonight.

Xander seems to be doing better. He slept through last night. After reading an article my mom showed me, Xander's sleeping problems seemed to be connected to his tummy. Not gas; hungry!

So... Yesterday he ate the following: cereal (1/4c) mixed with juice (1/4c)(breakfast); 1/2 bowl cereal and 1/2 container fruit (1.75oz) (lunch); 4 oz yogurt (snack); jar 1st meat (2oz) mixed with jar 2nd vegetables (4oz). Yes, he actually ate all that meat and veggie mix. 2/3 of it was gone at suppertime; he ate the rest before bed. He gets water through out the day; he doesn't seem to really like juice.

I'm still nursing him, too; just not as much. I think we're to about 4 or so times a day. Last night, he got a bath before bed, too. Today, I tried to repeat everything from yesterday, even the bath. We went for a walk this afternoon, so I'm hoping that will help him sleep, too.

We did our grocery shopping yesterday. Since we'd never been to CVS, we checked it out. The prices seem really high there, unless you need something that is on sale with a CVS card. I signed up for a card, just in case they ever have anything good on sale. We ended up going to Walmart for the things we were planning on getting at CVS.

Then, we went to Kroger. I like Kroger. They have good sales (you MUST have a card for the best deals) and double or take coupons to $1. Our total was $78.01. We saved *drum roll* $48.55! I know that still sounds like a lot to spend, but we didn't get groceries the week before. I don't like having fresh food around when we're going out of town.

I think I'm starting to figure out the "coupon thing". =) I've been reading, and enjoying, "Shop, Save, and Share" by Ellie Kay. For anyone interested in learning about saving money on your shopping trips, this is the book. There's probably a website by now, too (the book is copyrighted 1998); I just can't read the computer while I'm nursing. ;-) Oh, about saving money, I bought the book for $1 at the library sale. Gotta love it!

Xander is 11 months old now. Can you believe it? 1 more month 'til his first birthday. He's getting so big! I noticed yesterday that he's working on his second tooth, too. =)

Another Quick Post

Another busy day! It's late, so I'm not going to post much. We've been trying to find our schedule again. =)

We spent the weekend at my parents' home and visited with a lot of family that I haven't seen in years. That means that Danny and Xander saw people neither of them had ever seen before, and vice versa. It was a good time, but tiring! One of those vacations that you come home from and need a vacation. ;-)

I'll try to post more tomorrow. I did get my laundry done for the week, but we still need to grocery shop. I'm not sure any chores will get done this week. At least I cleaned the house well last week, so all I really have to do is keep it tidy.

Danny has a meeting about school, in the morning. He's hoping to get everything done so he can start in the fall semester. Being unemployed and living in an apartment doesn't give a guy much to do. School will be a good distraction. =)

As I said before, I'm trying to re-find my schedule. Our menu is suffering at the moment. Since we're out of bread (I made sure that we finished it before we left; wouldn't want it to mold), we've had Pasta-roni (yesterday), potpie (Danny) and Ramen noodles (me) (today) for lunch.

Supper hasn't been any better. Last night, we had "Pasta al dente" bowls. I will never buy those again. We both felt ill after we ate them; they were quite gross. Tonight we ate "Beef Pasta". That's all the box said. o_O Um, yeah. It was actually *surprise* palatable. Maybe I'll get it again. Maybe.

I need sleep, so goodnight! =)

Quick Post

We had a busy weekend. But, it was all good. =)

Xander doesn't want to go to sleep tonight, and I'm not sure what to do. Anyway, I can't think to post, 'cause I can hear him crying in the other room. He's nursed, like he always does before bed; I gave him gas drops, just in case that's his problem; I put orajel on his gums, in case that's his problem. I think the only thing I didn't do was give him Tylenol! =) Not sure what his problem is. I've put him down before when he was still awake and he goes to sleep.

Well, I'd better see what else I can do. Dishes need to be done, too. Later!

Link Post

I told you I was running out of title ideas. ;-) I seem to have a bunch of links to share and nothing to write about. So... A link post! I'll be busy tomorrow, so there will be no Friday post. See you Monday, Lord willing!

Britain Doubles Pregnancy Rates By Teaching Girls to Have Sex
This one is so dumb! Why do people think that teaching someone how to have sex and use a condom is going to lower the pregnancy rate? Notice, though, that they believe that the experiment failed because they brought to together "good girls" and "bad girls", and the "bad girls" were a bad influence on the "good girls". O_o
